Live-Branching
Since we launched two months ago, you’ve surprised us in a lot of ways — not the least of which has been all the different ways you’ve used Branch.
Over the last few weeks, we noticed you’ve taken to “live-branching” events and announcements, using Branch to talk to each other about your world as it’s happening.
Here are a few of our favorites:
2012 Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates:
Los Angeles radio station KCRW used Branch to live-branch the debates with political commentators and strategists:
- Presidential Debates - KCRW & Friends LIVE CHAT →
- Vice Presidential Debate - KCRW & Friends LIVE CHAT →
- KCRW & Friends LIVE CHAT the Presidential Town Hall Debate →
The Awl’s Choire Sicha brought together friends from Gawker, Buzzfeed, and Entertainment Weekly to live-Branch the debates, too:
- MITT “ROBOT-MONEY-MITTENS” ROMNEY V. BARRY “SO MANY DRONES” OBAMA →
- What Should We Do About These Foreign Places? Liveblogging the Final Romney-Obama Debate →
And some of you live-branched with friends:
- Foreign Policy Debate: join in! → - Andrew Flockhart
- Chuck and Gabe Live-Branch Debate #2 → - Gabriel Stein
Apple’s iPad Mini Announcement:
Several of you — including Buzzfeed’s technology blog FWD — decided to leave live-blogs in favor of live-branches for this morning’s Apple event, too.
- @FWD’s Little Tiny iPad Liveblog → - John Herrman (Buzzfeed FWD)
- CE/Apple Event Liveblog → - Micah Singleton (Current Editorials)
- iPad Mini Event → - Will McCain
What’s happening in your world right now? Start a branch, add a few friends, and talk to each other about it.
